Nip the Negative in the Bud

How to nip a spiral of negative thinking in the bud? Realize that *you* are thinking this thought, obviously; and that, as such, it is *your* decision to continue thinking it! You are thinking it—not someone else imposing it on you—and nobody else is even likely to be thinking about you that way or at all!

So then realize that your perception in both trivial and fundamental ways is flawed. It is not tied to any reference point or ruler and is not anchored in any objective reality. It's no more than a passing impression or reflection without grounding. Then dispel it as a falsity. It is as false to say "I'm a piece of shit" as to say "I am a a god/dess." Throw away the fake, phony, false thought.

That is the process. It works. Putting it into practice takes a bit of effort, though, but it's really no more complicated than that.

I could go way more into it, but for now I'll just throw it out there. ;)
