I'm in the subway...

I'm on the subway. I perceive no substantive reality to anything around me. Other people have little three-dimensionality. Play-acting roles. I have no substance either. Who is thinking this thought? Me? Am I the doer also? But the "me" perceives the doer as something other.

Everyone is in their little bubble. You see it on their public faces as much as their private ones. Girl putting on eyeliner; black kid blaring rap music; button-down geek businessman reading, yes, the WSJ; and everyone else on the strange train.

Whoa!

A blind guy with cane got on. Spoke with him about senses and sensory acuity until it was his stop. He talked about math and exploring the city. Unreal city. His name’s Brian.
